One of Singapore’s most powerful plays by one of Singapore’s most important theatre figures. Descendants of the Eunuch Admiral, performed by the graduating NAFA Diploma in Theatre students is a dream and meditation on the iconic Eunuch Admiral, Cheng Ho - “… Dreaming has become the centre of my life. … his castration, his survival, his rise to power and fame, and his wandering.

“… Dreaming has become the centre of my life. …

Dreaming all by myself. Alone, painfully alone, and floating away.

But this loneliness is a potent one; it is an inviting loneliness. There is a vast space all around me. Endless. Haunting. Unknown. But promising. And seemingly reachable. ”

Design & Media Graduation Show 2008 engages you to ponder and wonder over 200 visual delights re-defined by NAFA graduates from the Diploma in Multimedia and Diploma in Visual Communication programmes. In this graduation show, we made use of things to do things through thinking. Everyday we abide and live through the ‘things’ of our life and yet we all unknowingly live through a spectrum of nothingness. The Think Things concept basically means that we think and do things at the same time and we make use of things to do things. Think more than things.

This is the Diploma in Dance Showcase that will feature works by our Artists-in-Residence as well as full-time lecturers. It is a wonderful platform where students get t o perform and, for those who have chosen Choreography as their concentration of study, to display their works created during their Composition module. The performance is part of NAFA’s 70th Anniversary celebrations and will showcase two works from the Purchase residencies, “RUNNING STYLE”, choreographed by Stephanie Tooman and “THE DREAM”, an excerpt from the classical ballet “Don Quixote”, staged by Ted Kivitt. The performance will also bring to you a recently mounted version of Lim Fei Shen’s “ICE NYMPH”, that was restaged for the Esplanade’s Da:ns Festival in October 2007.
