This is an annual showcase of the exquisite graduation collections of students from the BA (Hons) Fashion and Marketing, BA (Hons) Fashion Design and BA (Hons) Fashion Design with Textiles programmes. This year will see a total of 14 graduates. Department of Fashion Studies offers BA (Hons) degree programmes in collaboration with the University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom.
Sharaku Intepreted by Japan’s Contemporary Artists

Toshusai Sharaku, a ukiyo-e artist born in Edo could be considered a genius, whose work exudes the pioneering quality of an artist that captured the imagination of the Japanese people with his uncanny depictions of then-day actors to the inner world of story characters they play. Organised by the Japan Foundation and supported by the Japan Embassy in Singapore, the exhibition proposes Sharaku as a common theme that is reintepreted by today’s graphic designers and artists two hundred years after his time; illustrating the connection between ukiyo-e and graphic design of Japan, the differences in the approaches used in graphic design, contemporary art and the diversity of today’s artistic expressions.
