| Dancers @ Work aims to provide a platform for its students to perform in showings of works being done by visiting Artists-in-Residence or explore and let their own choreographic ideas take flight. These informal affairs held in the Studio Theatre (Black Box) will not only provide more opportunities for the students to perform, but will also enable the public to get to know the exciting developments in the Department of Dance and the Dance programme. This is an opportunity for all involved to participate in the creative process that is Dance. |

| The performance features the works of artists from Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan. Lim Fei Shen, a Cultural Medallion winner, will premier her completely new re-working of her earlier piece “Ice Nymph”. This is a work inspired by a poem by Tan Swie Hian and was first made for Singapore Dance Theatre. “In Place” by Aaron Khek and Ix Wong studies the structures of two solo pipa pieces. It is a richly layered choreography depicting the face of destruction and stagnation of humanity.” Landscapes of Dreams” by Ku Ming Shen from Taiwan completes this trilogy and is influenced by both Asian and Western dance styles including contact improvisation. All performers are students of the Department of Dance. |
