Batik

This is an exhibition of recent works by Malaysian artist, Toya Lim, who is internationally renowned for his refined figurative batik paintings of rural lives and landscapes. Recognised for subtly synthesising the indigenous craft with the Impressionistic visions of Seurat and Degas, he has been invited by numerous art colleges in the United Kingdom, such as the University of Leeds, Bradford College of Arts and St. Martins School of Art, to lecture and demonstrate his unique and sophisticated techniques. Besides the early painting, “Mother and Child”, which now hangs in UNESCO Building in New York, his works have been widely exhibited and collected in Europe, Australia and across the region.
