归 (Roots) is an alumni-only dance performance featuring the choreographic works of five NAFA dance graduates. This is the first show of its kind, organised by a team of 'graduates for graduates.' The organising committee is headed by Paragraph Dance’s Artistic Director, Max Chen, and Soulz Creative LLP's Director, Peter Teo.
Max graduated from NAFA with a Diploma in Dance and from the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Program in Dance at Purchase College, State University of New York. He was awarded Best Dancer at SPROUTS 2010, a national dance choreography competition co-presented by the National Arts Council and Frontier Danceland.. Max's choreographic works have been showcased widely by NAFA, Frontier Danceland, Maya Dance Theatre, Odyssey Dance Theatre and the Singapore Dance Theatre.
A NAFA Diploma in Dance graduate, Peter received a Ballet Soloist Scholarship to study at the renowned Ajkun Ballet Theatre in New York, USA. He has performed on numerous occasions globally, in countries such as the USA, China, Japan, Korea and Malaysia, and with celebrities like Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau, 5566, Jeff Chang and Xiao Xiao.
