Co-organised by the NAFA School of Music and Rave Group Int’l, as well as supported by the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, the inaugural Nanyang International Music Competition (NIMC) 2017 seeks to inculcate creative attitudes and a spirit of curiosity and responsibility in young musicians around the world, by:
- providing a platform for these musicians to challenge themselves to reach higher standards of performance;
- fostering musical exchange within a supportive community; and
- inspiring participants to find meaning in belonging to a community of like-minded people.
NIMC 2017 takes place over two weeks in July 2017, featuring Western instruments in the first week and Chinese instruments in the second week. Workshops and masterclass sessions presented by the Artistic Panel or adjudicators will also be held for participating competitors.
