NAFA Orchestra with conductor Lim Yau
Lim Yau, Conductor
Schubert: Symphony No. 3 in D Major, D. 200
Sibelius: Symphony No. 3 in C Major, Op. 52
Under the direction of Maestro Lim Yau, the NAFA Orchestra presents two works known for their conciseness, clarity, and use of the classical symphonic model as a foundation.
Schubert’s Symphony No. 3 in D Major, D. 200 was written during a productive period alongside some of his most well-received lieder, and reflects the composer’s gradual stylistic maturity. Sibelius’ Symphony No. 3 in C Major, Op. 52, marked a major aesthetical departure away from mainstream Romanticism, and towards a transparent, economical sound that the composer would become known for.
