Entrepreneurship in Fashion Business (Certificate)* (New)

Introduction

These courses provide the learner with essential skills on how to start and manage a fashion business. The key takeaways include both managing online and offline platforms, business planning, branding, marketing and merchandising.

Entrepreneurship in Fashion Business 1 - Starting a Fashion Business (10 sessions x 3 hours)

This course equips the learner with basic analytical skills and practical knowledge of how to start a fashion retail business. The learner will also have an overview of the fashion retail landscape and learn about business planning for the fashion industry.

Entrepreneurship in Fashion Business 2 - Branding and Marketing (10 sessions x 3 hours)

This course introduces the learner to the fundamentals of how branding and marketing are necessary processes in managing a fashion business. Topics covered in this course will allow the learner to transform his/her fashion business from a concept to reality.

Entrepreneurship in Fashion Business 3 - Buying and Merchandising (10 sessions x 3 hours)

This course provides the learner with basic knowledge of how merchandise are chosen, to run his/her fashion business according to their specific demographic segments. The learner will gain practical skills from analysing and managing business indicators such as sales and profits, to effective stock management.

Entrepreneurship in Fashion Business 4 - Running a Fashion Business Online (10 sessions x 3 hours)

This course provides the learner with an overview of managing his/her fashion business online. This includes evaluating the types of online platforms available, managing sales operations and security, as well as using online marketing media to promote their fashion business.

Applicants must be 17 years old and above.

Prerequisites for Registration

  • Applicants are required to attend the short courses in sequential order
  • For Entrepreneurship in Fashion Business 3 & 4, applicants need to complete Entrepreneurship in Fashion Business 1 & 2 (within six months)

Subsidies

SkillsFuture Credit
All Singaporeans aged 25 and above can use their $500 SkillsFuture Credit from the government to pay for a wide range of approved skills-related courses. Visit the SkillsFuture Credit website (www.skillsfuture.sg/credit) to choose from the courses available on the SkillsFuture Credit course directory.

Cheques should be crossed and made payable to the 'Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts' and send to:
80 Bencoolen Street (S) 189655. The student's name, NRIC/Passport number and contact number must be written on the reverse side of the cheque.

Refund of Fees

Withdrawal within 14 days before the commencement date of each short course Course fee will be refunded after deduction of S$107 as administrative charges.
Withdrawal on or after commencement date
No refunds will be given.

Cancellation/ Postponement

  • NAFA reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course without prior notice.
    In the event that the class is unable to proceed due to unforeseen circumstances, NAFA will process a full refund of the course fees.

Withdrawal/ Deferment/ Transfer

  • Withdrawal or deferment requests should be made in writing with supporting relevant documents (if any) to Continuing Education. Request for deferment is subject to approval.
  • No deferment is allowed after the 2nd lesson of each short course.
  • No transfer of course upon registration.

Replacement of Classes

  • There is strictly no replacement lesson should the participant absent himself/herself from the course.

Part Time Certificate courses (January 2018 Intake) will be commencing on the week of 2 January 2018.

The enrolment for January 2018 intake has ended.

The next intake will commence in July 2018, and enrolment will be in May 2018.
