Biography

As a professional artist-lecturer, Chwee Seng has been taking part in both international and national art competitions and exhibitions since 1987. In his recent activities, he was a finalist in the 1st and 3rd International Biennial of Print Exhibition in Guanlan Print-Base, Guangdong, China in 2007 and 2011, as well as in the 3rd Bangkok Triennial International Print and Drawing in Thailand in 2012. His works have been annually featured in the international invitational exhibitions printmaking in Taipei, Taiwan.

Chwee Seng’s list of accolades include winning the Silver Medal in the Salon des Artists Francais, France in 1988; the 1st and 2nd prizes in the Singapore IBM Art Award in 1989 and 1988 respectively; and 1st prize (Category) in the UOB Art Competition in 1988.

In 2010, he held the Solo Show at the Jendela Visual Art Space at the Esplanade. His works are collected in private companies and museums, including the Singapore Art Museum, UOB and IBM.
