Biography

Jenny started learning ballet at Jean M Wong School of Ballet at 14 and through her school, she was awarded a travel grant by the French Cultural Council to enable her to attend an intensive course at the
Centre de Danse International Rosella Hightower in Cannes, France. Upon her return, she enrolled at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. After she graduated in 1990, she joined Hong Kong Ballet, and in 1991, she joined the Singapore Dance Theatre.

During her 5 years with the Singapore Dance Theatre, she had performed as a lead dancer for various productions, such as The Breath of Time, Appassionato, Momentum, Ballade, Requiem, Graduation Ball, Nutcracker and Symphony Number 1.

Jenny had performed for audiences in Japan, Korea, China, Malaysia and Australia, as a dance student and as a professional dancer. She had received good reviews and was mentioned in “Dancing Times” (June 94 issue) for her performance with SDT in Perth, Australia.

She had retired from performing since 1996 and is currently teaching part time at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, LASALLE College of the Arts as well as community centres.
