Biography

A reputable jewellery artist-designer, Jacquelina’s work enjoys a wide reach, both in the academia and the creative industry. Her industrial experience is extensive; ranging from working with silver accessories company Bit & Pieces as a designer, to setting up a company named MOKUMÈ with 3 friends, which won the Singapore Fashion Awards, MOET & CHANDON - “FRESH!” Fashion Jeweller of the Year (Editorial) 2004.

A versatile artist, she participates actively in major art exhibitions locally and internationally, presenting her sculptures in mixed media and contemporary jewellery pieces. In 2013, she created a copper sculpture for the exhibition ‘Simple Pleasures’ at NAFA and it was featured in the article ‘indesignlive.sg’.

Highlights of her accolades are: Distinction Award in Philippe Charriol Foundation Contemporary Art Competition Sculpture Category 1992/3, “Women Beyond Borders” - Sculpture Square, Singapore (Permanent collection in California, USA) 2001, and Photography Images selected from “Eye the city 24hrs” for National Day Parade booklet.

Jacquelina has many years of experience directing jewellery programmes in the academia, which include being the Assistant Program Director of the 3D Department at Raffles Design Institute in Beijing, LASALLE College of the Arts and Raffles Design Institute. At NAFA, under her mentorship, a significant number of students have won jewellery design awards at major competitions, notably the La Putri Jewellery Design competition and MIJF- Jewellery Design Award 2014.
