Biography

Ethel has been in the teaching profession for 18 years. She has taught critical thinking, business communication, academic writing and multiculturalism at National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University and Singapore Management University.

Ethel has always maintained an interest in the arts. For her Masters dissertation, she researched and wrote on the films of the auteur director, Wong Kar Wai. She plays an active role in the development of the arts in Singapore, having served as Vice Chairperson and member of Media Development Authority’s Consultative Panels for Publications and Films. In this role, she played a part in collating feedback on the regulation of media content. Ethel has contributed to the research of the Visual and Performing Arts Department of National Institute of Education, to help develop the teaching of arts in local schools.
