Biography

Dean Lundquist is an award-winning playwright, director, actor and instructor, and has made Singapore his home since 2004. Dean is the founder and Artistic Director of Asylum Theatre Ltd. His plays - I Can Tell Your Handbag is Fake, Finger Food and The Joy of Solitude - have been performed throughout the English-speaking world. A specialist in teaching the Sanford Meisner acting technique, he teaches workshops in acting and playwriting. He has taught at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and Lasalle College of the Arts.

Dean's professional resume includes stints at Seattle Opera (Lakme), Nevada Stage Company (The Taming of the Shrew), VCOW (Noah's Flood, Oedipus Tex, The Impresario), Short+Sweet Singapore (Artistic Co-ordinator/Associate Festival Director) and Asylum Theatre (Holiday in my Head, The 39 Steps).
