Biography

An established arts educator, Ash Y.S. Yeo teaches a broad curricular range from Research Methods, Design Approaches, Critical Reflections, Design History, Ethical Issues in Design, Creative Discursive Design Argumentations, Art /Design & Ecology to Principles of Design and Visual Merchandising. In addition to his part time teaching commitment at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, he also lectures as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the School of Design & Environment of the National University of Singapore as well as the School of Art, Design and Media of the Nanyang Technological University.

His book “Dialogue with the Light” is part of the National Library Board collection. His artworks are in the collection of the Deutsche Bank, MFA, NLB and the Singapore Art Museum.

Ash has built an accomplished list of architectural retail and residential interiors work, which he has successfully conceptualised and realised, based on branding values and image, thus providing meaningful phenomenal needs of sites and clients.

His key interest lies with applying emphatic values of Phenomenology that makes for fresh, meaningful and compelling art and design practices.
