International Applicants

01 All international applicants must meet the entry requirements for Diploma courses.
02 International applicants who can only submit their full results in mid-2012, they can use their school examination results or trial results for registration. Each applicant must furnish a letter from his/her school to verify that these results are true and correct, and that he/she is currently waiting for the release of his/her final results. Such applicants are also required to sit for NAFA English Admission Test.
03 Equivalent Qualifications

China
  • Senior High School Leaving Certificate Examination and have sat for the National College Entrance Examination (NCEE)
  • Certificate/Diploma in arts-related studies

India
  • Secondary School Certificate (Year 10), including a passing grade of 50 and above for English from The Central Board of Secondary Education Examinations (CBSE)

Indonesia
  • Completed Senior High School (Year 12) and passed the National Final Evaluation Examination (SMA or SMU)
  • 5 subjects passes, including English, are required

Malaysia
  • Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) Examination
  • 5 credits, including English, are required
  • Unified Examination Certificate Examination (UEC)
  • Only Grades A & B are accepted for UEC qualification

Myanmar
  • Basic Education High School (BEHS) or IGCSE

Philippines
  • High School Diploma

Vietnam
  • High School Graduation Certificate of National Examination (Year 12)
  • Diploma in arts-related study

Other Countries
  • Assessed based on its equivalence to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'O' or 'A' Level examinations
04 International students are required to apply for Student Passes through Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) of Singapore after acceptance by an educational institute to pursue full-time studies in Singapore.
05 International students must take note of the relevant Singapore laws, especially those relating to ICA and Ministry of Manpower. These include laws on driving, drugs and alcohol abuse, political activities, employment, smoking, traffic and littering.
06 Student Pass holders are permitted to work up to 16 hours per week during term time. There is no restriction on the number of hours during vacation.
07 There is no guarantee that international students will be offered Permanent Resident status upon graduation. All graduates are responsible to seek employment on their own after course completion.

All international applications must receive and accept the offer of admission by the stipulated deadline specified in the NAFA Admission Offer. Following which, the following guidelines should be followed:

  • Apply for a Student Pass according to the detailed instructions provided by NAFA.
  • Verify the accuracy of the following information that have been entered into the SOLAR system:

  • - Name
    - Sex
    - Date of Birth
    - Nationality
    - SOLAR Application Number (to be provided by NAFA)


Please inform NAFA immediately in the case of misspellings of Name or errors in the Date of Birth. The earlier registration will then be cancelled and a new one will be submitted.

13 July 2012 : ICA formalities
16 July 2012 : Orientation Week
20 July 2012 : Official issuance of Student Pass

Important note:
No international student should leave Singapore between 13 July 2012 after the ICA formalities and 20 July 2012 before the official issuance of the student pass
