Striking Distance - Fine Art Degree Graduation Show 2010
'Striking Distance', a term traditionally used in military situations to describe "a distance from which something can be easily reached or attained", signals the beginning of a creative 'attack' by our graduating artists, now positioned to be specialists in their respective fields of art practice.
The Fine Art Degree Exhibition will bring together 12 graduating students from NAFA's Degree Programme, offered in collaboration with the University of Huddersfield, UK. Six of the graduating students are from BA (Hons) Painting and Drawing pathway, and six from the MA Contemporary Practice programme, which accommodates and supports research in interdisciplinary art practice ranging from Fine Art to performance. Works from the Degree Exhibition will touch on a myriad of contemporary concerns, such as identity, memory, and one’s relationship with the city; and expressed through paintings, drawings, mixed media installations, photography and video.
