Today’s contemporary furniture designers and manufacturers continue to evolve design and seek new concepts while employing simplicity and lightness of form, in contrast to the heavy ornamented designs of yesteryears.

after2 - R.A.W, is an exhibition of original and full-scale furniture prototypes by the year 3 furniture majors of Diploma in 3D Design programme at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA). The exhibition showcases 27 different ideas ranging from chairs to side tables, from lighting concepts to furniture for corridors. All actual full-scale prototypes were created and handcrafted by the students. Works are for sale from $134.90 to $1255.

This exhibition is unique as it showcases the process of the students’ investigation from observation and development to questioning and challenging the ordinary to develop their final solutions. This endeavor encouraged the students to step beyond their comfort zone to create new expressions of functional objects through their observation of everyday activities.

Results as envisioned, raw yet polished
Amidst contrasting dreams, common grounds are formed.
