General Information
Payment
• School fees are non-refundable.
• Should a child be away on holiday, school fee for that term is payable.
• School fees are to be paid in advance and not later than 1st week of each new term.
• Payment can be made via Giro, Cheque or Child Development Account (CDA).
• Cheque payment should e made payable to: Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts
• Please write the child's name and class on the reverse side of the cheque.
Withdrawal
• One month's written notice of withdrawal must be given.
• No withdrawal will be accepted in June & December.
Trial Period
• Two weeks of trial period
• Fee paid is non-refundable
Closure Dates for our Kindergarten
• Saturadays, Sundays, Public Holidays and stipulated School Holidays approved by the Ministry of Education.
• 3 unschedulated school holidays that fall on weekdays. Parents will be notified of the closure date at the beginning of the school term.
Meals
• Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided (AM & PM session).
• Outside food is not permitted in the Kindergarten unless on religious or medical grounds. Medical grounds must be accompanied by a letter from a registered medical practitioner.
• Kindergarten does not serve pork, beef or lard.
• Birthday cakes must be purchased from a license confectionery.
Health and Medical
• Child with contagious illness such as Chicken Pox, Measles, Sore Eyes, Hand-Foot-Mouth or any other febrile diseases is required to stay at home.
• Child will be able to attend school when he/ she is certified fit by a registered Medical practitioner.
• There will not be any refund of school fees for days when a child is kept at home/ when Kindergarten needs to close temporarily to break the cycle of infection.
• Medicine must be clearly labelled with child's name and dosage instruction.
• All medication must be prescribed by a registered medical doctor.
• Medication must be authorised by parents.
• Medical authorisation must be written daily on the medical instruction folder in class.
• Medication for internal and external use brought off pharmacy shelf will not be entertained.
• Parents will be notified should their child be sent to the nearest clinic or hospital.
• All medical expenses to be borne by the parents.
Personal Items
• Uniforms to be worn to the Kindergarten daily
• Extra set of clothes
• A face towel
• A plastic bag for soiled clothes.
• All personal items must be labelled clearly and the Kindergarten will not be responsible for any loss of these items.
Excursions
A variety of fieldtrips related to our curriculum are planned during the school year at additional costs. On such occasions, lessons will not be conducted for those students who opt out of these trips.
The Kindergarten will endeavour to the best of its ability the safety of all students during all fieldtrips.
School Safety
All students must be signed in and out of the Kindergarten each day. An attendance book is placed in each respective classroom.
The person who brings your child to the classroom is responsible for accompanying your child into his/ her classroom and letting his/ her teacher know of his/ her arrival.
Punctuality
Children are required to arrive at school on time in the school uniform. Parents are also advised to fetch their child punctually.
Communication
Each child will have a communication book for the purpose of developing and maintaining a regular exchange of information between the school and home. Parents are encouraged to update themselves on the child's progress via this book. Latest events and news regarding school will also be sent via email and hard copies regularly.
Developmental Profile
As a form of documenting children's stages of development, each child's development profile will be developed and sent home after every semester. The developmental profile will be kept in school at all times for teacher reference. It will be returned to the child upon withdrawal.
Parent-Teacher Meetings
These half-yearly dialogue sessions enable parents and teachers to express their views concerning the development and learning needs of the children.
