Knowledge and skill-based Course Structure
Core management studies in this programme foster the learning of transferable skills, while supporting modules enable students to develop an innovative mindset based on sound research and analytical readings. This skill-based training is specially designed to equip students for increasingly globalised creative and cultural industries.
Students will have the choice of majoring in either Visual Arts or Performing Arts in this course. The comprehensive programme allows students to progress through the study path which contains the following:
Foundation knowledge and skills
Get started on the fundamentals of arts management, oral communications, creative writing skills as well as computer application on business. Students will also be exposed to different areas of the arts like arts awareness in art, dance, music, theatre as well as world music.
Core business and management modules
Establish a solid foundation in management, marketing, accounting, finance, contract law, event management and human resource management.
Career and job related knowledge and skills
Make the first move towards relevant studies in art critics, museum and curatorial studies, exhibitions and facilities management, lighting and sound, stage management, dance production, concert management.
Incorporating theoretical classroom studies with practical hands-on experience, this programme includes an internship at an art and event organisation for students to gain valuable on-the-job experience.
In addition, students can expect to gain a good understanding of many art forms and learn how to manage events and projects, turning exciting artistic ideas into reality.
This programme gives students the opportunity to select electives in other departments - Fashion, Music, Fine Art, Dance, Theatre, 3D Design, and Design and Media.
