Diploma in 3D Design
The Diploma in 3D Design fosters creative thinking, integrative practice and technical competence with the aim to provide students with a multidisciplinary learning experience, global attitude and knowledge that is applicable across disciplines relevant to all aspects in 3D design from personal (products) to public (environment design) domains. Emphasis is placed on studio practice, supported by a range of subjects that form the basic structure of the course. Students are able to choose from a range of major studies that cross disciplines and yet remain specialised in their chosen field of study.

Environmental Design Major
This major study in Environmental Design involves the constructed external environment - mainly Landscape and Architecture. The scope of Landscape and Architecture is presented as a single non-segregated discipline.
Through studio sessions, tutorials and projects, students will be trained to develop skills in design concept creation, aesthetic appreciation and keen understanding of technology.
Students can expect a fulfilling career or the chance to pursue further studies in the corresponding fields of Architecture, Landscape Design or related spatial design disciplines upon completion of this programme.
Exhibition Design Major
Students will learn to conceptualise various types of exhibition spaces in this Major and gain an in-depth education as they make their marks on projects such as merchandise displays, promotional booths, retail showrooms and museums. Students will also learn to develop innovative display solutions and experiences for commercial and communication purposes.
Essential theories and principles relating to branding, marketing communication, fabrication process and project management are complemented with other core subjects. Students will also undertake minors in Interior Design and Furniture Design in this course.
Furniture Design Major
As Furniture Design evolves with shifts in culture, technology and trends, there is a growing need to investigate emerging challenges that these changes will bring. This course will push students to explore and experience the process and spectrum of Furniture Design as functional objects of space, as well as interaction expression, cultural icons and symbols of emotions in the context of personal, public or commercial environment.
Students will develop competencies in analysis, design synthesis, judgment, articulation of concepts and communication of ideas in furniture design within the spatial context.
The course includes prototyping, ergonomics and knowledge in industrial fabrication and production, and marketing. Minors in Interior Design and Exhibition Design are included in this course.
Interior Design Major
Students will explore, master and apply principles and theories of design in residential, commercial, corporate and hospitality design are in this Interior Design Major.
Through addressing the knowledge required to create exceptional spaces, students will gain a strong grounding in understanding spatial relationship, by developing sensitivity and appropriate responses to human behaviour, site and purpose. To further enhance students' understanding of various aspects of spatial typology, students will undertake minors in Furniture Design and Exhibition Design.
Jewellery Design Major
Students will learn to execute their ideas with skill and ingenuity with this Jewellery Design Major, which emphasises the design process, techniques of material finishing and production practice. Students will be encouraged to master special techniques such as enameling, repousse and casting. In the process, they will also work with various metals, gems and hybrid media, such as fabrics, resins and polymer clay in the exploration of material expression and question the inherent relationship of jewellery to the body.
This studio-based programme promotes research, experimentation, analysis, evaluation, critique and lets students gradually develop their own personal philosophy and expression throughout their study. After which, students can look forward to graduating as an independent jewellery artist and craftsman, or jewellery designer.
Object Design Major
Object Design Major centred on the creation of consumer lifestyle products and merchandise, from personal to interior accessories - focusing on the appreciation of materials, elemental technologies, crafts and sustainable production methods.
Departing from conventional high volume production and technology-led mass consumption products, this course aims to set the pace of integrating design, culture and business in an aggregated industry landscape and consumption environment.
Students will undergo essential modules in basic business management, brand marketing, production and distribution. All of which, designed to develop students' skills and competence in the setting up of small entrepreneurial business, or to lead as design business managers who bridge creativity and business in industries and services that engage and rely on design.
